YOUTH SERVICE CLUBS:
*Key Club: A service club for high school students to promote civic awareness and volunteer for projects or assist with help for San Marcos. *K-Kids: A service club for elementary students to introduce them to learning about civic responsibility and volunteer for service at various places such as the animal shelter, senior living facilities. and cleanup projects at school.
*Terrific Kids: A twice a year event where elementary students are recognized for achievement in school.
CAMP MCBRIDE WILSON YOUTH CAMP........We have a 7.5-acre camp on the Blanco River that is used by Scouts, Church Retreats, and other groups.
PUMPKIN DASH 5K RACE: This is a 5K race put on by the club as another fund raiser around Halloween. Help with race duties on race day as needed. About 3 1/2 hours of time.
Kiwanis Clay Shoot: This is a sporting clay shoot held in April each year as an annual fundraiser.
FLAGS: The flag fund raiser supports the San Marcos Public library summer reading program.
VETERAN'S DAY PARADE: The club has a float in the parade that needs to be decorated. The club hosts a Children's Bike Brigade and has a bike raffle for kids immediately following the parade.
INTER-CLUBS: Our club visits other clubs in the area for fellowship and support Kiwanis. An inter-club needs four members to go on a visit.
BUSINESS EXPOSITION: The Chamber of Commerce sponsors a business expo for organizations to exhibit their business or club. We have a booth to show the events our club supports and to recruit new members.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: The club gives several $1,000 scholarships to San Marcos High School students for college finances. The students are selected on criteria set by the club and reviewed by the committee as to which students are selected.
